Marymount University Wines

We are happy to announce two Marymount wines. The wine labels were designed by Marymount student, Luke Morris, under the direction of Bridget Murphy, Professor in the Graphic and Media Design program. 

Chardonnay

This medium bodied Chardonnay from Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains is made with versatility and approachability in mind, without any oak aging. With a medium level of alcohol similar to white Burgundies, it pairs elegantly with a variety of foods including seafood, chicken, and creamy pastas. Click here to purchase. $24.00

 

Red Blend

Robust and smooth, the Marymount Red Reserve Cuvee is an all-Virginia blend from award winning winemaker Michael Shaps. It is crafted from Petit Verdot, Merlot, and Norton, with 50% new oak aging adding to the supple texture. BIOS: 

Bridget Murphy is a Professor in the Graphic and Media Design program at Marymount University. She has been a member of Marymount’s faculty since 2001 and has served as program Chair, Associate Provost of Academic Affairs, and a member of the SACSCOC reaccreditation leadership team. She has taught graphic design for over twenty years where her teaching is informed through her professional career along with service learning projects Bridget’s expertise in graphic design includes integrated marketing campaigns, print publications, poster design, logo design/brand development and environmental graphics. Bridget continues to be involved in the creative process through printmaking, designing, drawing, painting, and teaching. She has presented at design conferences as well as won awards regionally and nationally. Bridget explores the opportunities between being a professional visual communicator and a studio artist. She earned a MFA in painting and communication design from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), Rochester, NY and a BFA degree at Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, IN.

 

Luke Morris, a Graphic and Media Design major, participated in the label design process both as a designer and illustrator. His illustration of the Main House is featured on the Reserve Cuvée. Currently, Luke is a junior and is on the Men's Volleyball team at Marymount. He is currently working on a wedding invitation and a book cover for one of his friends. He plans to work in the graphic design industry when he graduates. He is optimistic about what the future holds.
