Provision of Health and Wellness services in rural areas For the past two years a group of committed faculty members have traveled with undergraduate and graduate students to five separate locations in rural and remote regions to provide public health education services to communities in need. Help us make a difference in access to care and combating health disparities while providing leadership and professional development training for students. We cannot do this without you! Together, we make a difference. |
Early Learning Academy Scholarships Early childhood is a critical time when a child’s brain is highly impacted by the contexts and environments that surround them. The literature on the academic effects of high-quality preschool indicates that although all children benefit from participation, those from lower-income families benefit the most. Lower-income children are more likely to enter kindergarten without the skills needed to succeed in school. And children who start out behind, tend to stay behind. With your gift we can provide scholarships to serve those families whose children are hindered by financial barriers. Your donation can make a difference in the life of a preschooler that will lead to long term school and life success! |
Marymount Community Mental Health Clinic The Clinic will serve two important functions. First, "The Training Clinic" is an essential part of the clinical training for Masters-level graduate counselors-in-training in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) and Pastoral Clinical Mental Health Counseling (PCMHC) programs at Marymount University (and the Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision with projected admissions date for fall 2024). Second, the "Training Clinic" seeks to provide a needed service to the community by providing various clinical mental health services to diverse populations across Virginia, to increase mental health care equity, and assist in eliminating the stigma surrounding mental health among marginalized communities by providing free or low-cost counseling service. "The Training Clinic" will utilize School of Counseling counselors-in-training under faculty and staff supervision to provide clinical mental health services to individuals, couples, and families who experience mental health symptoms and stressors and across diverse populations and settings. Your support will help support the student experience and provide services to the Arlington community. |
Essential Equipment for Nursing Students It is a high priority to ensure that our lab is well supplied with the same equipment and technologies students will encounter in clinical settings. On this Day of Giving, your gift will go directly to aid this initiative. Here’s a snapshot of some of our equipment needs:
- Stethoscopes: $65
- Wound care kits: $150
- Portable EKG monitors: $350
